Sun, 17 December 2006 John Honan - Luke 8:5-15 Prepare the heart soil (humility). Plant (prayer). Water (Holy Spirit). Weed (ask Jesus to pull the thorn bush). There is a lot of work Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, wants to do in me. I must see the great depth of my sin, my need and then humbly ask Jesus to do what I have done a lousy job doing. Preparing the soil, watering and weeding. I initially thought of myself as proficient in the repenting and watering business. Now I am asking for more and more help from Jesus and then watching him do well, what I did badly. Comments[0] |

2. Some feel unprepared. 3. Some haven't thought about it. What group are you in? In preparing, it's good if you have received Jesus into your heart. How do we do that? It has to do with humility, prayer, seeking and waiting, repenting. Can you tell how humble you are? How proud you are? Can you tell if you are waiting for God? Is repenting affecting your behavior? Your perception vs. reality.

Sun, 3 December 2006 ![]() Paul reminds the Corinthian church of his right as an apostle of Christ to them. After he establishes that right, he refuses to take advantage of it. He wants them to learn humility in order that their arrogance not destroy them. Comments[1] |
